Under limited supervision, provide project management for large and/or complex construction projects. Guide processes through judgment and depth of experience balancing College priorities for the best overall outcome. Responsible from project initiation through completion of construction and occupancy. Point of contact for stakeholders on campus and representative for the college when working with designers, consultants, vendors, contractors, and local and state officials. Ensure the performance of contractors and consultants, negotiate change orders, monitor project schedules, manage construction administration and project close-out process.Education/Skills Requirements
· A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or an equivalent combination of related education and field experience.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies and excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Experience in construction management or construction supervision on a college campus.
· Experience with sustainable building practices
· Experience with project management softwareExperience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Minimum of three years experience in project management. A minimum of five years of experience in the design of buildings or the construction industry. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, regulatory requirements and maintenance standards required. Experience in creating, monitoring, and analyzing budgets required. Experience in project estimating and contracts. Experience in construction project organization, estimating, scheduling, contracting, and documentation.Standard Work Days and Hours
Generally works first shift hours (8:00 a.m.-4:30 pm) but may be required to divert from this as incidents or work demands require. “On call” via home and cellular telephone during all hours not present at work.About Bowdoin
