Woodfords Family Services located in Westbrook, Maine is in search of hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to be caregivers, working one-on-one with our adult consumers with special needs, in our Residential and Independent Living programs. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
As a full-time Direct Support Professional, you are a caregiver to adults with developmental disabilities. DSPs who work overnight schedules perform light household upkeep, including cleaning and disinfecting tasks during the evening, and support consumers as needed. In the morning, you will support adult consumers with morning routines, including personal care and hygiene, breakfast prep, medication passing, and transportation to work or activities. You will support adults to make daily progress toward their goals. As a DSP caregiver in our Residential programs, you work independently with an adult consumer as well as cooperatively within a treatment team. To stay at the top of your game, you participate in paid training and opportunities to advance in your career. We support our DSPs to learn new things that improve your skills and gain strategies needed to be successful.
QUALIFICATIONS OF A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license
- Use of reliable vehicle with current insurance
- Good physical strength; able to bend, lift and stand
Direct Support Professional certification is a plus but not required, we will train the right person! Are you energetic and a people-person? Are you supportive with a passion for helping others? Multiple open positions with flexible full-time, awake, overnight schedules.
- 4 nights either Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Sunday
- Shifts are 11PM to 9AM or 10PM to 8AM
