The Business Development Manager, MEP Services, is responsible for contributing to the financial growth and profitability of the IDM team through the development and implementation of sales, marketing, and client service that enhance the growth of the IDM team. The position actively supports the development of sales management with each of the Regional Managers throughout the Industrial Markets. Maintain and develop long-term relationships key to overall success. Develop short- and long-term market strategist controls, programs, and reporting that apply to unregulated business processes, technologies, and sales that are consistent in meeting financial, social, and environmental values, to achieve enhanced shareholder value.
Serve as a focal point for new business development activities within the Industrial & Manufacture area, including but not limited to, developing partners and market relationships, client support, sales, solutions development, etc. Business development will focus on a delivery model that includes total project delivery as well as core strength standalone projects; civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and piping.
Collaboratively develop and implement sales strategies and develop regional tactics that best position solutions, services, or ideas in terms of how they add value to customer operations and/or address unique needs and preferences of key client decision-makers.
Ensure that the IDM group has an appropriate sales plan/focus in line with sales strategy. Ensure a balance of sales efforts between short-term and longer-term prospects and take corrective action as appropriate. Provide sales pipeline reporting as required.
Support Regional Managers present solutions, services, or ideas to clients in a manner that clearly shows how they would address critical business needs; build confidence in solutions, services, or ideas; represent IDM at senior levels in the client organization in terms of enhanced shareholder value. Effectively manage customer relationships from the initial first call through to project implementation.
Secure information to develop a thorough understanding of the competitive environment; develop and leverage a broad network; study market changes and their likely impact on customers to identify growth opportunities and trends.
Research and develop a thorough understanding of the Federal, State, and local programs which provide funding for energy, efficiency, environmental, and/or life cycle asset management services for prospective clients.
Support IDM Management with strategic planning and implementation of growth initiatives. Maintain continuity within the team to ensure resources are secured and aligned to deliver on customer satisfaction.
Accountable for the development of client lists and contacts within the planned sales cost budget.
Execute strategic business initiatives with the support of Area management.
The Business Development Manager will report directly to the General Manager of IDM. This position requires close coordination with the senior operations and works cooperatively with all levels of management as well as other business unit development.
A bachelor's degree in finance or engineering is preferred and/or at least six years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required.
Position requires regional travel to support business objectives.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
The position requires excellent knowledge of sales principles and processes of mechanical, electrical, piping industrial services.
This includes project scoping, financial cost analysis, and sales presentations.
Proven demonstration of sales management, presentations, and a proven track record of closed transactions is required.
