We have several per diem opportunities on our Patient Access Services Representatives (PSR) team in both Augusta & Waterville. Job Description:

+ Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services.

+ Meets with patient or patient’s caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.

+ Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

+ Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

+ Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have:

+ Extensive customer service experience

+ Excellent and demonstrated communication skills

+ 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred

+ Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
