Riverview Psychiatric Center provides state of the art care to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to promoting health, safety, resilience, and opportunity for Maine people. The Department provides health and social services to approximately a third of the State’s population, including children, families, older Mainers, and individuals with disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders. The Department also promotes public health, operates two state psychiatric hospitals, and provides oversight to health care providers.

Job duties:

The Department of Health & Human Services, Riverview Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for an Intensive Case Manager to provide professional services work in the area of intensive case management for high-risk mental health clients within the hospital at Riverview and during their transition into the community. As an Intensive Case Manager, you will act as a single identifiable support in a comprehensive and individualized approach to transition clients from the hospital into the community ensuring basic living needs are met and assisting clients in gaining access to medical and psychiatric requirements, rehabilitation, social, peer, educational, psychological support services. You will directly monitor client integration progress and overall service delivery system. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of/worked within a comprehensive community mental health system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

In order to qualify, you must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences or a related field and four years’ experience in professional community mental health work. A Master’s Degree in Social Work may be substituted for two year’s experience. You must have the ability to obtain Social Work Licensure in order to qualify.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s Degree and preivous experience as a Case Manager
