The Customer Insights Research Institutional lead will be a thought-partner and core collaborator with the Institutional team to craft, execute and analyze all research needs for this group! They will know the team’s strategy and be able to proactively suggest research in support of the strategy. As a specialist on the institutional customer, this role will ensure all research design and execution is carefully planned to resonate with these customers in order to get to key insights using all available data sources.

What you’ll do:

+ Design and execute end-to-end research plans (including qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary research) that incorporate the reflect the institutional team’s core needs and business questions

+ Maintain current understanding of needs, dynamics and trends in the Institutional space

+ Develop insights, implications and recommendations from the research that drive the direction and strategy of our institutional team

+ Coordinate research plans with the rest of the research team, injecting relevant areas of inquiry into non-institutional projects and extracting insights from other research that will improve the institutional research perspective

Skills You Will Need Here:

+ Deep understanding and experience in the academic institutional space (e.g., 2 year community colleges, 4 year colleges/universities); experience in Institutional Effectiveness or Institutional Research or related field is highly desirable

+ Master’s or other advanced degree with a strong background in market research, statistics or quantitative social sciences

+ Experience with qualitative research methodologies (e.g., IDIs, focus groups, advisory boards) with senior level audience (e.g., Deans, Provosts, CFOs)

+ Experience in qualitative research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, online qualitative discussion boards (e.g., Recollective))

+ Experience with analytics and with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Q, Python) and methodologies such as segmentation, multivariate analysis, discrete choice modeling, etc.

+ Proven ability to build and execute research plans and deliver data backed insights in a fast paced environment

+ Strong bias for action with the ability to self-manage progress against achievements and results with high degrees of accountability and speed to output

+ Strong writing and verbal presentation skills; experience preparing and communicating recommendations (often in PowerPoint) to a diverse and senior audience

+ Comfort with and eagerness to seek ambiguous problems

+ Highly collaborative

+ Experience in education technology is desirable but not required
