Job Summary:This position features a $3000 sign on bonus for MGH New Hires!MaineGeneral is currently seeking an LCSW to join our counseling team as part of the Psychosocial Oncology department at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. In this position, the ideal candidate will be an integral part of a strong and innovative multidisciplinary team of oncology specialists including physicians, clinical nurse navigators, and other highly trained professionals. Through your clinical expertise, empathy, and commitment to patient centered care, you will aid patients and families in navigating the many ways cancer touches their lives. + Participating as a core member of the multidisciplinary medical caregiving team for cancer patients and their loved ones throughout the continuum of care from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship or advanced illness.
+ Utilizing best evidence based practice to provide psychosocial assessment and therapeutic interventions including psychotherapy, psychosocial education, and resource connection
+ Provide interventions to help patients manage information, decision making, and problem solving while optimizing communication with the medical team, work, family, and friends.
+ Ongoing professional development and collaboration to enhance and expand therapeutic and supportive services offered to patients and family, such as support groups, educational programs, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have:
