This position allows the opportunity to work REMOTE from home during COVID pandemic restrictions. Once it is safe to return to work, and restrictions are lifted, this position will work 100% onsite at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
The Technical Writer/Editor will support the IM/IT team in the preparation of a wide variety of IM/IT technical documentation.
In this role a typical day will include:
+ Providing broad-based technical editing/writing skills in a wide variety of areas, specifically in writing materials such as Configuration Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, User Guides, Software Release Notes/Documentation, and other system documentation.
+ Writing a wide assortment of technical documents which includes developing, rewriting, and producing computer software/systems related documentation.
+ Working with the web developers, and program/project offices when necessary regarding the creation of documentation for IT applications.
+ Organizing information for preparation of user manuals as well as training materials for various applications and workflows within the IT infrastructure.
+ Writing documentation for information management systems applying word processing, graphics and audio visual communications techniques for technical or scientific subject matter; and assisting programmers and engineers in developing on-line documentation.
+ Collaborating with team members, diverse professional staff, and reviewers to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products in accordance with in-house and client requirements.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
+ 5 years’ professional experience preparing technical documentations as a technical writer.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
