Job Description Summary: This position is 24hrs/week supporting the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care.The Chaplain provides spiritual support and counseling to patients and families related to spiritual beliefs, questions or concerns that may arise during the course of their healthcare journey. Responsibilities: Conducts spiritual need assessment and provides appropriate spiritual support and counseling to patients and families, including crisis intervention and bereavement support.Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health.Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.Actively participates in spiritual care program development to enhance services and outreach to patients and the community.The ideal candidate will have:Master’s degree in Divinity or related field preferred.Ordination and documentation of good standing by a recognized faith group required. Certification as a Chaplain by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI), the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) and 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.Job Description:

Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health. Contributes to the development of support services for patients and families.
