New Eco LLC is looking to fill 29 Forestry Worker positions. Work site(s): Provided daily transportation to and from the worksite; begin in Gardiner City, Kennebec County, ME 04345 @ $15.76/hr. Continue into the towns of Allagash town, Ashland town, Bath city, Belfast city, Camden town, Caribou city, Dixfield town, Eagle Lake town, Ellsworth city, Fort Kent town, Gardiner city, Greene town, Greenville town, Houlton town, Jackman town, Lincoln town, Littleton town, Machias town, Masardis town, Monticello town, Oxbow plantation, Phillips town, Portage Lake town, Sanford town, Smyrna town, Waterville city, Whitefield town and areas of Lewiston-Auburn, ME, Northeast Maine nonmetropolitan area, Southwest Maine nonmetropolitan area. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from 04/01/2021 to 10/31/2021. *Duties:* sorting, evaluating quality and planting tree seedlings, trimming trees, identifying diseased or undesirable trees and removing them (using power or hand saws), applying chemical solutions to plants/trees to: enhance growth and/or protect against insects or disease & other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011 (onetonline.org). *Requirements:* Must be 18 due to travel. Must show proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco free work zone. Must walk substantially (up to 15 miles/day), also stoop, bend while carrying a pack (up to 50lbs) thru rough terrain (non-trail). No minimum education requirement. On-the-job training available. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. *Terms & Conditions of Employment:* $15.76/hr OT $23.64/hr. Depends on Experience. The wage(s) offered equal(s) or exceed(s) the highest of the prevailing wage or the Federal, State, or local minimum wage. Health and Welfare benefits may apply. Cash advances may apply at employer's discretion. *Possible daily/weekly hours:* 8:00AM-4:30PM. 40+ (plus) to include lunch break, M-F. Possible weekend/holiday work. (Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. If overtime is worked, wage is paid at a rate of time and a half per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.) Outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or OT. Overtime not required. This employer will also comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to overtime hours. *Transportation:* Transportation and subsistence will be provided for cost from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $13.17 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts. *3/4s Guarantee:* The worker is guaranteed employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period. *Tools, equipment & supplies:* All work will be done with employer provided tools, supplies and equipment without charge or deposit. *Miscellaneous:* Will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Wage paid every two weeks. All deductions required by law will be done by the employer. Optional housing available at no cost.
