Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


Deals with rooms division concerns and/or problems, as they arise and handles uninvolved issues personally.  Reports involved concerns and/or problems to direct manager.


Trains and oversees new agents with all daily front desk operations such as OPAL amenities, posting charges, check-in/check-out services, telephone procedures and etiquette and familiarity with preparation and completion of cashier audit.


Provides information to agents regarding specific requests from group representative such as, incidentals billed to master account, etc. and ensures all agents working various shifts are advised.  Handles questions and/or complaints with billing issues such as charges posted to incorrect rooms.


Reassigns sleeping rooms to balance room types and/or to meet specific guest requirements and confirms all changes with Housekeeping and Bellstaff to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.                                                                                                  


Answers guest inquiries, offers suggestions and provides descriptive literature pertaining to area interests, trips, excursions, sports events, concerts and plays either personally or through brochure mailings.


Discusses routes, time schedules, rates and types of accommodations with guests to determine preferences and makes reservations; ensures room confirmations are mailed and current; and assists with overflow of in-coming calls to Central Reservations.


Meets with Front Office Manager on a regular basis to review groups and other relevant information.

            EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.                                                                                                                                         



Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.                                                                               



Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.                                                                                                                              



Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.    



Keyboard, computer literacy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Valid drivers license required.
