Linde is currently seeking an Electronics Gases (ECOVAR) Engineer to join the team in the Kittery, Maine area.
Purpose of the Position:
+ Support the Zone Production Manager in performance monitoring and improving programs, including SHEQ, operations, productivity, maintenance and reliability issues associated with all Electronics plants in the Kittery and Selkirk Supply Area (South Portland, Essex Junction, Macom and SUNY)
+ Identify, define and safely manage multiple assigned capital and expense projects associated with all systems, including the ECOVAR plant, back up tanks, purifiers, tube trailers etc., tied to each Electronics facility in the Kittery and Selkirk Supply Area
+ Proactively and routinely meet with the customers associated with each Electronics facility in the Kittery and Selkirk Supply Area to review the status of all systems, issues and improvement projects associated with their supply facility
+ Manage all aspects of projects, including project scope development, planning, scheduling, procurement, reviews, construction/installation, check out, start-up/commissioning, training, developing operating and maintenance procedures and administrative and cost controls requirements
+ Develop, support and drive an overall continuous improvement program to ensure that each Electronics facility meets all customer expectations
Safety and Regulatory
+ Assist site compliance to all Linde and Customer management systems
+ Ensure all changes to equipment or procedures follow EMOC procedures
+ Ensure the HWP process, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and energy control procedures are adhered to by all employees and contractors
+ Participate in internal and external audits: utilize Audit Manager and Synergy to execute and document all corrective actions issued to the site from Audits and Incidents review
+ Lead, support and document HSE incidents and investigations
+ Support the maintenance of site security and work areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner
+ Contribute to team awareness of co-workers and personal safety through proper work habits, good housekeeping skills, and appropriate usage of personal protective equipment
+ Understand, monitor and take corrective actions to manage effluent and emissions on local environment
+ Promptly inform management of safety accidents, unsafe conditions, environmental problems or production operations problems
Operations and Reliability
+ Support the planning and executing of major and minor plant and system improvement and maintenance activities, including the management and oversight of contractors
+ Ensure all equipment condition monitoring parameters are reviewed and within limits, with any deficiencies entered in SAP PM or Audit Manager as applicable
+ Provide turnaround scopes to scheduling, sales, reliability group etc.
+ Maintain current the Site Contingency Plan information
+ Support training plan development, execution and management for ECOVAR technicians
+ Provide back up support to ECOVAR technicians with plant start-ups and troubleshooting
+ Manage the efficient use of downtime
+ Conduct routine efficiency reviews of all systems and identify improvement opportunities
+ Lead, support and document equipment reliability failures and investigations
+ Follow all Quality Control requirements to ensure a quality product is delivered to our Electronics customers
+ Manage quality assurance testing and maintain all required documentation
+ Lead, support and document Quality incidents and investigations
+ Assist Zone Production Manager with managing customer relationships. Act as point of contact for day-to-day operational issues with customers
+ Promoting customer focus among staff
+ Managing customer reporting processes
+ Providing technical support to commercial account representatives
+ Attending customer planning meetings
+ Participate in customer daily meetings at regular intervals
+ Develop estimates with the appropriate level of accuracy for projects, especially in the upfront stages where order of magnitude estimates are required to determine go/no go decisions for project feasibility
+ Interface with key stakeholders to determine the project scope
+ Coordinate with all stakeholders to establish project objectives, scope, schedule and budget. Establishing project quality objectives
+ Execute the project safely and on budget, tracking costs to provide timely updates on spend relative to budget, managing vendors and contractors and tracking schedule to complete on time.
+ Ensure that all contractors are properly qualified and trained and compliant in Browz
+ Interface with local permitting agencies
+ Organize required internal activities such as safety reviews, HAZOP, FAT, EMOC, PSR and punch lists.
+ Ensure that all internal standards (incl. HWP, LOTO, Golden Rules, etc.) and procedures are followed as well as industry standards, codes and regulations.
+ Maintain effective communication of progress and issues with monthly updates on material variances to scope, schedule or budget or substantial usage of contingency especially prior to the construction phase.
+ Delivery of a safe quality project on schedule and within budget
+ Develop operating and maintenance procedures for the equipment in conjunction with the area team and publish in LiMSS and SAP PM as appropriate
+ Bachelor Degree – Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred
+ Minimum of 2 years’ Operations and Project Management, including industry experience in the Electronics or Industrial Gases industries/process plant
+ Demonstrated track record in solid safety performance
+ Ability to climb to heights 50 ft above grade and work effectively
+ Valid driver’s license with good record
+ Availability for On-call duty and other hours as required
+ Project Management Certification (PMI or equivalent) preferred
+ PE license a plus
+ Personal computer proficiency (Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, MS Project), and other software used by the company.
+ Strong organizational ability – Ability to with working independently with little direct supervision.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills – at ease when dealing with customers
+ Strong interpersonal abilities
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
+ SAP PM proficiency a plus
+ Familiarity with relevant OSHA standards
+ Ability to interpret and mark up engineering and electrical drawings.
+ Aptitude for Project management
+ Demonstrated ability to develop a technical scope, schedule and budget and consistently deliver to it
+ Project cost control experience
+ Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with operations and maintenance personnel
+ Ability to manage professional and construction contractors
