Job Title: Laborer – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $18–$22/hour for Laborers | $23+/hour for CDL Drivers | $3–$5/hour hazard pay (when applicable)
Hours: Monday–Friday, typically 6:00 AM–5:00/6:00 PM | 55–60 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking Laborers for full-time positions with our client, a highly respected construction and industrial maintenance company with locations in Turner, Maine and Portland, Maine. These positions involve outdoor labor and traveling to various job sites. The Laborer will support sewer maintenance, pipeline inspection, and rehabilitation work. Success in this role means being dependable, safety-focused, and ready to work in a tight-knit, team-driven environment. This is a long-term opportunity with room for growth, training, and advancement.
As a Laborer, you will be responsible for:
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used for sewer and pipeline work
- Perform general labor in outdoor conditions, including extreme cold and heat
- Lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Support trenchless construction and industrial projects
- Travel to job sites across the state (overnight stays required for jobs more than 2 hours away; hotels paid by employer)
- Attend weekly safety meetings and follow all safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow all on-site instructions
- Participate in on-the-job and in-house training programs
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience in construction, landscaping, logging, or other hands-on labor roles (preferred, but not required—we will train the right candidate)
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow instructions
- A valid driver’s license (preferred); CDL holders will be considered for higher-paying roles
- Ability to pass a physical and pre-employment drug screen (CDL roles must follow Federal DOT testing standards)
- No recent major driving violations or violent criminal history (background check required)
