The Office of Maine Refugee Services (OMRS) at Catholic Charities Maine is seeking a Full-Time TANF WF Project Coordination Specialist.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announces the Wilson-Fish (WF) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Coordination (WF TC) program. This initiative provides funds for the development and implementation of innovative approaches throughout a state to facilitate access by refugee families with children under the age of 18 to relevant, customized, and culturally and linguistically appropriate integrated services and resources that harness refugees' specific strengths and address the challenges they face post-resettlement.
The WF TANF Project Coordination Specialist is the person responsible for foundational case management, cultural brokerage services, vocational counseling, job development, resource referrals, and employment placements for TANF enrolled refugee and asylee clients. This position is based primarily at the Fed Cap office in the Bangor/Brewer area. This position will require a flexible working schedule, requiring some availability in the evenings and weekends to accommodate clients' schedules.
Qualifications Include:
A Bachelor's degree in one of the social sciences or a related field. Three (3) years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in case management, job counseling, or work in an employment services related field.
Experience in data collection, file maintenance, and reporting is desirable.
Cross-cultural experience is preferred.
Multilingual skills in Arabic, French, Kinyarwanda, and/or Swahili preferred.
Must have flexibility, initiative, dependability, interpersonal and communication skills, be well organized, and have the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Must have own reliable transportation.
