Job Description

As a Human Resource Specialist , you will be an integral part of our HR team, supporting various aspects of human resources management to ensure the success and well-being of our employees. You will serve as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance, support, and solutions to HR-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Student intern for summer June - August full time onsite in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth, ME

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Maintain sensitive and confidential records and files in accordance with state and federal laws, create written documentation supporting HR functions.
Prepare, maintain and analyze month and annual HR related metrics.
Ability to identify and recommend best practices to drive forward the organization's mission, vision, and values. Identify bottlenecks or pain-points to streamline the processes.
Promote an engaging culture through positive interactions with all employees. May proposes programs to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to problem solve as well as judgment sufficient to recognize limits of responsibility and direct issues beyond level of responsibility to appropriate personnel
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Ability to communicate effectively with others, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and bring to successful completion on budget and on time
Strong interpersonal skills to work in a high-profile environment to effectively deal with a wide variety of people and personalities requiring discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy; astute judgment to recognize limits of responsibility and direct issues beyond level of responsibility to appropriate personnel.
Experience developing and executing communication plans to broad and diverse audiences.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, schedule, and successfully carry out multiple projects at the same time to successful conclusion with minimal supervision.
Intermediate expertise with MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and HRMS related database systems.

Pay Range: $14.50 - $30.25
