Chief Product Officer

at Acxiom LLC in Augusta, Maine, United States

Job Description

Company background & history

Acxiom, a subsidiary of IPG, has been the leader in data-driven marketing solutions for over fifty years. The company enables people-based marketing through a simple, open approach to connecting systems and data to drive better customer experiences for brands and other large enterprises. As the leader in identity, customer data management, and the ethical use of data, Acxiom helps thousands of clients and partners around the world create millions of better customer experiences every day.

The company’s reputation has been built on its commitment to enabling clients to execute marketing strategies that deliver real, tangible outcomes, particularly as they relate to customer acquisition, retention, and growth. Rather than selling yet another tool, Acxiom is dedicated to engineering major strategic outcomes, ensuring that an investment in Acxiom services yields substantial returns.

The marketing and digital landscape is undergoing significant changes, characterized by complexity and fragmentation. With the rise of SaaS Martech tools and hybrid/multi-cloud environments, large enterprises around the world are struggling to make sense of a combination of technology environments that span Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, and Databricks among others. As clients adopt increasingly complex technical environments, so too must Acxiom build more flexible and elegant solutions to meet clients where they are at today, and tomorrow.

Acxiom’s Chief Product Officer

Acxiom is continuing to evolve its technology stack to meet the needs of the market, ensuring that its platform seamlessly integrates with any client technology environment, thus making its services universally accessible and adaptable. The goal is to empower clients to achieve specific business outcomes, not managing complex technology. This strategy will ensure the company’s market leadership for the next 50 years.

Acxiom is seeking both a transformative and hands-on Chief Product Officer to:

+ Chart the course: Set the strategic direction for Acxiom’s technology organization, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with the company’s overall business goals.

+ Lead Acxiom’s innovation agenda: Drive the development of new ground breaking capabilities, continuing to propel Acxiom towards industry leadership.

+ Unify and scale: Build a comprehensive, cross-company platform, embedding common capabilities into a scalable infrastructure, ensuring a uniform consumption and commercial model.

+ Inspire and collaborate: Lead a strong team of technologists, encouraging a culture of innovation and collaboration.

As the company focuses on its next achievement, eclipsing $1B in revenue, our CPO will be responsible for the technology strategy that allows Acxiom to:

+ Deliver even greater value to customers,

+ Unlock new service opportunities,

+ Expand revenue and margins, and, most importantly,

+ Continue to delight customers around the globe.

Role & responsibilities

+ Develop and articulate a clear Product vision that aligns with the company’s overall business strategy.

+ Act as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, providing technical insights, guidance, and recommendations to drive business growth and achieve organizational objectives.

+ Lead the design and build of a modular platform that seamlessly integrates the operations and underlying data, products, and services that Acxiom brings to market.

+ Design and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy and architecture that abstracts the value that Acxiom delivers to its clients from the underlying infrastructure.

+ Lead the transformation of analog services into scalable digital products, enabling the company to transition to a recurring revenue model and capture new market opportunities.

+ Cultivate a culture of software engineering excellence by recruiting, mentoring, and empowering top talent and implementing standard methodologies in software development, testing, and deployment.

+ Create a comprehensive technology roadmap that outlines key achievements, identifies potential roadblocks, and ensures alignment with long-term business goals.

+ Stay at the forefront of technological advancements (such as Generative AI), researching and implementing emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge.

+ Assess and mitigate technology-related risks, including data security, compliance, and scalability issues, to protect the business and its partners.

+ Establish performance metrics to evaluate the success of technology initiatives, ensuring that they contribute positively to the company’s growth and profitability.

Past experiences & qualifications

+ Proven experience in developing and driving technology strategies that advance with overall business objectives.

+ A track record of leading teams in the design and implementation of modular platforms that enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and cross-business collaboration while reducing cost and tech debt.

+ Proven experience in managing technology operations within a high-scale environment, including handling substantial revenue streams, large teams, and complex product portfolios.

+ Strong background in software engineering and a history of fostering a culture of excellence, including recruiting top talent, implementing standard processes and driving innovation.

+ A track record of successfully leading teams through technology transformations and driving organizational change to embrace digital solutions. Prior experience in transforming services into digital products.
