Job Description

4 Assistant Cook Positions. Under supervision of Chef, prepare a variety of foods, including lobster rolls and other seafood, fried foods, and other food products. Help with food prep work. Keep kitchen and related work areas clean. Check the freshness of food. Help order and maintain an inventory of food and supplies. Follow sanitation practices and kitchen safety standards. Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations. Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients. Plating prepared foods based on supervisory chef’s guidance. Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time. Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of the shift. Work will be performed on the premises of the York River Landing in York, York County, Maine from 04/01/2024 to 10/31/2024. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Employer will provide or pay for the worker's cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, if the worker completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period, consistent with 20 CFR 655.20(j)(1)(ii). Employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (not including passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). After the worker completes 50% of the work period, Employer will (in the next pay cycle) reimburse the H-2B worker for transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of employment, as is required by 20 CFR 655.18(b)(12). Employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k). The three—fourths guarantee applies, offering the worker employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(f. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
