If you answered yes to these questions, you could be the candidate we are looking for to join the Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) Team at JMG as the new Instructional Designer.
As a key member of the ELO Team, the Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in designing and building content for JMG's Learning Management System (LMS). Working alongside JMG’s other Instructional Designers, the position involves collaboration with curriculum consultants, community partners, and other stakeholders to create engaging and effective learning resources. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of credit and credential pathways for students, ensuring alignment with JMG's educational objectives, and alignment with state and national standards. In addition to content development, the Instructional Designer will serve as a subject matter expert on curriculum implementation, providing guidance on both classroom-based and ELO delivery methods to internal and external stakeholders.
Specific Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Current teaching certification preferred. Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and content creation. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and educational technologies. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in creating highly engaging digital content for various audiences. Maine CHRC approval or ability to attain Maine CHRC approval is required.
Compensation for this position is $55,000 plus bonuses for qualifying staff. This position starts with 15 days of vacation time, 15 days of sick time, plus one additional week of covid time if needed. This role will also have an additional week of vacation at Christmas and an additional week of vacation the week of the Fourth of July holiday. This position is primarily remote and will be based in a home office. Occasional travel in Maine may be required.
