AIRPORT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Aviation & Transportation Department – Portland International Jetport

This is a challenging position in the dynamic and fast-paced environment at Maine’s largest commercial service airport of Portland’s busy and growing small hub commercial airport. This supervisory position involves a wide variety of skills ranging from mentoring and development of personnel to overseeing day-to-day staff work within trades in the construction, repair, operation and maintenance of airport buildings, grounds and equipment.
Requirements: Ability to successfully complete a physical assessment that measures cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, strength, endurance, hearing, color recognition and night vision; strong background in heavy equipment and construction; valid Maine Class B driver’s license; successful completion of TSA background investigation per TSR part 1542; must pass a federally mandated drug test.
Job duties include: Scheduling, inspecting, teaching, leading, and overseeing a team of Airport Maintenance Workers in a wide variety of Airport Maintenance functions. This position works closely with other Airport divisions to ensure work is completed both airside and landside. Qualified candidates are forward looking individuals who will learn and understand federal, state and local regulations that affect airport operations. They will be self-driven and inspire others to complete work in a safe, timely and appropriate manner. During training, this position is 1st shift Monday through Friday with the final anticipated shift of Tuesday-Saturday, 2nd shift position with an additional $.55 per hour shift differential.

AFSCME Supervisors Union position – Grade 27A - Pay rate starting at $1,050/week, with a 3% COLA in July 2023.
