Instructional Program (CIP)
A 150 hour course which includes instruction of the proper techniques in performing venipuncture and capillary puncture and the collection of blood specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. The student will develop knowledge of infection control and safety procedures, understand basic anatomy and the physiology of body systems. Total lab/clinical time is 100 hours. Candidates must be at least eighteen years of age, earned a High School diploma or GED and will be required to have a health assessment, which will include but not limited to a recent TB screen and hepatitis B vaccination before the start of the clinical portion of this course.
