Instructional Program (CIP)
Description
This is a Maine State approved EMT course. This course prepares students
for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. This is a face-to-face
course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom
activities. This course will require a majority of the coursework to be
done on-line on a personal computer. There will be face to face/in class
sessions with instructors to learn the practical skills needed to be an
EMT. Students can expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours each week on the
course doing the required reading and assignments. A minimum of 24
clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to
complete the clinical objectives. All students will be required to
provide immunization documentation prior to clinical. Students who
successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National
Registry EMT (NREMT) exam. NREMT Practical testing fees are included in
the price of this course.
