As an*Associate Scientist,you will be joining an interdisciplinary research team within the R&D Discovery and Technology Futures group. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced scientists at the BS/MS and PhD levels to support biomarker discovery projects. Strong skills in immunoassay optimization (in-clinic POC ELISA, plate ELISA, etc.) preferredThe Team is looking for an individual with a passion for sharpening their skills, learning new techniques *to achieve structured goals and milestones.
What will you do?
- Plan experiments, perform data analyses.
- Apply problem-solving skills to suggest next steps.
- Communicate findings in both verbal and written formats.
- Have the ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Work cross-functionally on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Document experiments and other lab activities. Prepare reports and summaries. Present results and conclusions. Maintain appropriate records.
- Use existing procedures as well as help develop new solutions to solve problems.
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or other scientific field or equivalent combination of education and at least 2+ years of work experience.
A willingness to take chances, the ability to seek out learning from a wide variety of other personnel.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cooperatively as part of a team.
Strong familiarity with basic laboratory bench and instrumentation skills.
Organizational skills and ability to plan work.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Takes initiative and displays ownership; focuses on task at hand; detail-oriented when it comes to documentation, processes, procedures, etc.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic understanding of various techniques: ELISA, protein concentration assays, SDS-PAGE.
This position will be based out of our Westbrook location, 50% of your time will be onsite and 50% will be virtual.
