The Residential Care Director is responsible for the overall unit operation and assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the interdisciplinary plan for each resident that ensures appropriate level of care and placement. It is the Director’s responsibility to insure that the necessary care and services are provided to each resident and to assist him/her to maintain the highest practicable levels of physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standards of federal, state, and Veterans’ Administration regulations. Directly supervises the residential care staff.

Required Experience:

Must have a record of effective leadership and administrative skills, and ability to develop, organize and direct staff to provide quality services to the residents.

Must have current and valid Registered Nursing License from State of Maine in good standing.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

At least five years of clinical experience; two year in long term care preferred.

Experience or training in areas such as geriatrics, residential care education and dementia care is highly desirable.

Must be knowledgeable of federal, state laws, and VA regulations relative to residential care.

Must have professional knowledge of the methods and practice of residential care.

Experience in organizing directing, and coordinating nursing and other allied health personnel to meet the total needs of the residents
