Full-time, Waterville Office

We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Waterville finance team. This newly created role will provide support to our Chief Financial Officer, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closing financial statements, and provide backup and support to company payroll. Duties include:

+ Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closing and financial statements

+ Provide backup and support to all aspects of company payroll; payroll maintenance

+ Reconcile bank accounts for company

+ Reconcile GL accounts

+ Process approved bad debt and client refund AJE’s

+ Approve office supply orders through vendor account

+ Manage company credit card and approved purchasing

+ Calculate, file and pay Service Provider Tax

+ Calculate, file and pay Sales & Use Tax

+ Assist in the budgeting process and provide relevant financial reports to management on a regular basis

+ Assist Chief Financial Officer in providing status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data, including the creation and analysis of various productivity and profitability reports

+ Track and file Personal Property Tax for branch locations

+ File and issue 1099’s

+ Assist Chief Financial Officer with other daily tasks and reconciliations as assigned

+ Special projects as requested

Work Schedule/Availability

Full-time; (40 hours/week.) Day shift – Monday-Friday; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field coupled with at least 2 years prior accounting and/or payroll experience or Associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience in accounting and/or payroll. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook required. QuickBooks and ADP experience and prior experience in a decentralized environment a plus.
