Room Maintenance Technician
Animal Care and Operations
The Jackson Laboratory is hiring for a temporary position as a Room Maintenance Technician at the Bar Harbor, ME facility. The Room Maintenance Technician works under general supervision to practice animal room maintenance and operations. The incumbent is responsible to learn and demonstrate proficiency in general duties in the work area to include the movement of supplies, disinfection/sanitation, and barrier entry/exit and safety procedures.
• Transports clean and soil supplies through materials airlock
• Provide materials to Animal Care Technician workstation
• Constructs and deconstructs clean and soiled caging material set ups
• All aspects of room sanitation
• Other duties as assigned
• Perform room environment check including room temperature, overall room condition and mouse traps
• Accepts guidance and constructive feedback in a professional, self-esteem, maintaining manner
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Work with a wide variety of people, while carrying out a variety of tasks/duties
• Team player with an emphasis on safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
