Director of Human Resources

Catholic Charities Maine, in Portland, has an opening for a full- time Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources is the official representative of the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Executive Management Team, of the Agency. This position is responsible for planning and implementing personnel practices and procedures. It requires providing direction and assistance to the various components of the Agency, in all areas of Human Resources, including management, planning and administration. The Director of Human Resources will manage and participate within the day to day workflow required of this department. The Director of Human Resources shall have a bachelor’s degree in a related field or related experience in Human Resources. A senior level Human Resource Certification is preferred. This position requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience, in Human Resources. Experience in staff supervision is also required.

The Director of Human Resources shall possess planning, administrative and leadership qualities. This position requires flexibility, maturity, initiative, dependability and strong interpersonal skills. The Director will possess strong verbal communication skills, public presentation abilities, organizational skills and have the capacity to motivate and supervise staff. Strong customer service skills are required.
