Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine (USM) is excited to announce an opening for Policy Associate I to join the Cutler Institute’s Justice Policy Program (JPP)!

The Cutler Institute’s Justice Policy Program (JPP) at USM is seeking applicants to fill the full-time, grant-funded position of Policy Associate I. Working under the direction of the JPP Senior Policy Associate, the Policy Associate I is responsible for the conduct of policy, research and planning tasks related to the JPP’s portfolio of “Place Matters” projects. The primary purposes of this position are to manage daily operations for designated JP projects; to provide oversight and assistance to the Place Matters portfolio of projects and to serve in a collaborative role for the Justice Policy Program area for the Cutler Institute. This position monitors and provides administrative operations for foundation and public sector funded projects that includes budget planning and management, coordination, oversight, direction for operations, and development of communication with external partners as well as internal partners within the University of Maine System. The position is also a justice policy content expert as well as evaluation methodologist to the project as well as to partner agencies, and provides consultation and insight as needed to the objectives of Justice Policy projects.

This position is soft-money (grant) funded and is subject to continued funding from the grantor.

  • BA/BS in a related field and 5+ of relevant professional experience.
