Job Description

Fabricates, fits, assembles and repairs equipment parts and modules. Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties:
Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Performs complete overhaul and assembly of newly designed equipment.
Performs unguided machine shop setups and related machining practices.
Assists engineering in recommending changes on new and existing designs.
Designs, builds, fabricates and develops processes and prototypes.
Prioritizes and implements projects from Engineering, Manufacturing and Facilities.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly and verifies the dimensions and alignment.
Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
