*Medical Coder – QA

Overview of Position*
CPC certified coder with the ability to QA CPT and ICD-10 coding. Ability to work on special projects and document trends and communicate these to the project leader as the product is built for Pathology. 280 clients to migrate, QA and maintain. Must be able to train and QA other on-shore coders and will also have other duties as assigned for coding department including coding during critical issues.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Assigned appropriate ICD-10 or CPT codes to patient records
  • Meet productivity standards
  • Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management
  • Provide feedback and training to providers or work on special projects as needed

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 5 years of coding experience
  • Education: High school diploma, CPC Certified
  • Must have experience in Pathology coding
  • Excel skill required
  • Organized and Detail-oriented is critical

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Ability to code CPT and ICD-10.
  • Ability to QA other coders’ work and document with authoritative sources.
  • Ability to research authoritative coding resources to document coding directives.

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?

  • General office demands

How much should I expect to travel?

  • 0-10% for a Coding Department meeting if ever required.
