Pharmacy Intern – Part-Time
Central Maine Medical Center (Outpatient)
Lewiston, ME

Description: As a part-time, nonexempt, Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Intern at Central Maine Medical Center, you will assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.

Schedule: This position will work 20-24 hours per week. The schedule for this position will vary, but is flexible with school schedules.

About the Facility: The Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery organization serving central and western Maine. CMH’s acute care facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital. Other CMH affiliates provide various outpatient and clinical services and maintain residential care facilities. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy
  • ME Intern Pharmacist License
  • Pharmacy technician experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
