You as the latest Principal Design Engineer member of our team will be integral to the design and development of many future rotary cannons and crew served weapons and other electro-mechanical systems. This position is dual posted for our Williston, VT Operations and Saco, ME Operations*

Major Position Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting technical teams developing and trading off hardware design concepts that satisfy requirements and constraints, configuration item design, verification of the design using modeling, simulation, analysis and test, documentation through formal reports, drawings and other technical data package items, and communication with the project team, business development, suppliers, industry partners, academia, customers and functional management.

Assignments may include both engineering development and production support roles, which will require a broad knowledge of the technical specialty as well as detailed product knowledge in order to safely and efficiently support formal problem root cause analysis, corrective action planning and execution, developing labor and materials budgets, and identifying facility/test equipment needs.

Work will be performed with supervision of a lead engineer or functional management and guided by policies and procedures. Clear and concise presentation of technical data at meetings and design reviews to peers, management and customers will be required. Must possess or be capable of rapidly developing the skills to function in a small project leadership role.

Basic Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline.

Experience: Six to eight years of relevant experience

Desired: Master’s degree in engineering
