Job Description

R&D Assistant
Compounding Solutions LLC is a leading manufacturer of custom medical polymer compounds, color concentrate, and additive concentrates for extrusion and injection molding for use in Class I, II, and III medical devices. Our growing business needs a R&D Assistant to help aid in day to day activities. This is an entry level position for a motivated individual with an engineering or science degree.
? Assisting the R&D department in formulation development by producing small scale trial batches and test specimens
? Characterizing physical properties of polymers utilizing techniques such as rheology FTIR spectroscopy, DSC, and mechanical testing (tensile, flex, tear, coefficient of friction, impact, hardness, etc.)
? Organizing and presenting data to a team of engineers and scientists. Efficiently communicating key findings.
? Ensuring sampling and testing are completed as scheduled in long term experiments.
Job Requirements:
? BS in Engineering or Science
? Familiarity with lab setting and operating analytical instruments
? Attention to detail and validity of measurements
? Continuous motivation to learn and persistent work ethic
? Willingness to follow directions, ask questions, offer relevant information, and maintain positive relationships with other employees
? Understandings of scientific methods, proper documentation, statistical analysis, and experimental design
? Ability to maintain an efficient daily schedule that is flexible when urgent projects need immediate attention
? Knowledge of polymer science, processing, and characterization is a plus but not required
