Prin Design Specialist

You, as the latest Principal Design Specialist member of our team,will provide support in determining the technical approach and developing solutions by applying creativity and advanced design concepts. Provide support over a wide array of technical products.
This position is posted for our Saco, ME and Williston, VT Operations
Major Position Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, developing and documenting conceptual and detailed product design information by creating CAD models, drawings, schematics, Engineering Change Notices or other technical data package items, and communicating with the project team.
Skilled in and knowledge of: (Mechanical) design of assemblies, mechanisms and articulating devices, and structural design of equipment cabinets, containers, structures, fixtures and test stands; development and production assignments, understanding of materials applications, hardware evaluation and verification through testing, and formal problem root cause analysis and corrective actions. (Electrical) engineering design, interface definition, and testing to include concept design of electrical system hierarchy, configuration item level design, definition of performance requirements for electrical components, boxes and software, test equipment, interface definition including cable routing, input to design subcontract efforts and electrical component suppliers; development and production assignments, understanding of electrical applications, hardware and software integration, evaluation and verification through testing, and formal problem root cause analysis and corrective action planning and execution. (General) design and drafting practices to include dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14, MILSTDs, and GD-OTS procedures. Also includes skills and knowledge of preceding jobs in the job family.
Work performed with minimal supervision guided by policies and precedent. Comprehensive knowledge of discipline and full capability of applying principles, concepts and practice in arriving at solutions to problems of moderate complexity. Has considerable latitude in making decisions which may have relatively significant impact on the program/project. May function in leadership role on moderately sized tasks or report to more senior leader on large tasks.
Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent in applicable engineering/technical discipline
Experience: 6 or more years of relevant experience
