ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

Type: Full time, Hourly
Location: Portland, ME

Tilson is looking for motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to handle high volume vendor invoices data entry and full cycle accounts payable. This position is based out of our Portland, ME headquarters. Tilson’s office is an activity-based work space.

Responsibilities:

+ Review, code, process, and route vendor invoices for approval and posting to AP module.

+ Process expense reports for final review/approval in Concur.

+ Monitor Concur activity and send requests to employees with past due transactions.

+ Reconcile credit card activity monthly.

+ Monthly supplier/vendor account statement reconciliations.

+ Processing normal monthly rents, company services, utility bills.

+ Entering all other approved bills into accounting database

+ Assist in the preparation of the weekly payments report for review.

+ Assist with the weekly payment processing via company check and ACH for all payments

+ Void and reissue check payments when needed.

+ Assist Accounting Manager or Senior Accountants with any month-end or closing tasks applicable to the AP department.

+ Responsibilities may vary as the company continues to grow.

+ Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

+ 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience in automated environment. Preferably full cycle AP experience.

+ Self-starter, dependable, and system savvy.

+ Industry experience in construction, engineering or technology is preferred

+ Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field is preferred.

+ Knowledge of Sage 300 software is a plus.

+ Proficient in MS Excel. Candidate must be able to do VLOOKUPs, PIVOT tables, pre-formatted tables, complex formulas, conditional formatting, troubleshoot errors, develop templates, etc.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment

+ Team player with excellent communication skills

+ Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision in a deadline driven organization

+ Ability to prioritize work load and handle multiple projects at time.

Successful candidates will be required to submit to criminal background check.
