Major Position Responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting technical teams developing and trading off design concepts that satisfy requirements and constraints, configuration item design, verification of the design using modeling, simulation, analysis and test, documentation through formal reports, drawings and other technical data package items, and communication with the project team, business development, suppliers, industry partners, academia, customers and functional management.
Your assignments may include both engineering development and production support roles, which will require a broad knowledge of the technical specialty as well as detailed product knowledge in order to safely and efficiently support formal problem root cause analysis, corrective action planning and execution, to develop labor and materials budgets, and to identify facility/test equipment needs.
Your work will be performed with minimal supervision and guided by policies and procedures. You will be given considerable latitude in making decisions which may have significant impact. You will be required to provide clear and concise presentation of technical data at meetings and design reviews to peers, management and customers. You must be capable of functioning in a project leadership role on moderate to large sized projects.You will act as a mentor to less experienced engineers and guide their professional development so they can become future leaders in the business.
To succeed in this role you will need the ability to develop dynamic mechanisms through application of your creative design, analysis, fabrication and test skills.You must be able to troubleshoot problems with failure analysis, root cause determination and corrective action implementation skills.You must be able to communicate your work products through written reports and oral presentations.At this level, you will be considered a technical expert and leader in the business.
Experience:A minimum of 10 years of experience is required for this position.Typical experience levels for this position range from 12 to 30 years of relevant experience.
Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline or equivalent experience.
Desired Education:Master’s degree in engineering.
