The Vice President (VP), Mercy Medical Group serves as the
administrative leader for the MMG employed practices, including all
hospital-based physicians, advanced practice professionals and CRNAs, as
well as designated outpatient and support service units partnering in
concert with practice leadership and Mercy Hospital leadership.
Responsible for the strategic, administrative and operational management
of the MMG ambulatory physician practices and the execution of physician
network development strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include
direct oversight and professional management of all Mercy Medical Group
operations by organizing relevant work groups, specific assignments and
accountabilities, work plans, deadlines and provides regular reporting
and communication with key stakeholders. The role requires significant
leadership skill, ability and is seen as a change agent to ensure that
performance improvement and operational objectives are achieved. The VP
will work in a dyad relationship with the Mercy Medical Group SVP and
collaborates with the management team and medical leadership, serving as
a resource to help reduce costs while improving quality, enhance
revenues and achieve effective utilization and quality/patients
experience goals and objectives.
The Vice President, Mercy Medical Group (VP, MMG) will support the
physician employment and compensation program to ensure it aligns
physicians with organizational goals; planning and defining primary and
specialty care locations and scope of services and executing on those
structures and plans. The incumbent ensures that all existing
ambulatory services and practices have a business plan, performance
metrics, and reporting processes.
The VP is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all
aspects of the MMG annual budget in conjunction with the Mercy VP of
Finance, Northern Light Health SVP, CMO and Northern Light Health SVP,
Mercy President; responsible for ensuring that the Mercy Medical Group
services are in compliance with all federal, state, funding, and city
regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements. The VP, MMG
develops working relationships with the President of the Medical Staff
and other key members of the medical staff. The VP, MMG will work with
the Northern Light Health SVP, CMO and other system leadership and
structures and participate in all relevant Northern Light Health
activities to ensure consistency, integration and alignment of
operational practices. For new ambulatory physician practices, or
network services, the incumbent develops financial feasibility and, if
approved for implementation, ensures execution on the plan and
facilitates incorporation of the plan components into existing financial
and growth goals/metrics. This position develops, implements, and
monitors patient access processes within the ambulatory practices that
are creative, seamless, and service oriented.
As a member of the executive management team, the Vice President, Mercy
Medical Group also participates in the general management of the
hospital and the development and implementation of its strategic plan.
The incumbent performs all duties and tasks in accordance with
performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is
responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety,
employee engagement and patient experience initiatives appropriate to
the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job
responsibilities according to the mission and values of Mercy Hospital
and the mission of the sponsoring Sisters of Mercy Northeast. This
entails working within the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic
Healthcare Services, utilizing values-based discernment, in partnership
with the Catholic Church.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
