The Town of Hartford with a population of 1100 people is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer/Licensed Plumbing Inspector who is capable of working within a team environment as well as individually. This position is responsible for answering questions from the public regarding Town Ordinances and adopted codes, documenting and investigating complaints pertaining to code violations and reviewing permit applications including, but not limited to land use, building, internal plumbing, and subsurface wastewater disposal. This position requires knowledge of the Maine State Plumbing Code, State of Maine Shoreland Zoning Code and the Town of Hartford Building Lots Standard Ordinance. A Construction and Plumbing background strongly recommended but not required. State of Maine Code Enforcement Certifications are required to perform specific responsibilities, or the ability to obtain all certification within mandated time limits. This is a part-time non-benefit position reporting to the Selectboard. Compensation is dependent on education and experience. The selected individual will have to be able to work remotely.
