AR BILLING SPECIALIST

Tilson Technology Management is looking for a Billing Contract Specialist with a heavy focus on customer invoicing, contract set up and maintenance data entry for its high-growth telecommunications and construction company operating in more than 30 states. This position is based out of our Portland, ME headquarters. Tilson’s office is an Activity-based workspace.
+ Compile, analyze, & process high volume of project and non-project bills to clients on a monthly basis
+ Issue, review and post invoices in the system for project managers’ approvals, and submission of invoices to customer’s portals
+ Set up new projects and add users to the projects in multiple systems
+ Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modification, approvals, and any additional service-related to billing
+ Work closely with project managers to ensure that invoices are accurate and comply with corporate guidelines
+ Maintain project billing folder and accounting system to ensure all invoices and other project related documents are readily accessible for project managers & accounting department
+ Communicate professionally with project managers, clients and other staff providing accurate information and responds timely to inquiries and completion of assignments
+ Investigate billing errors, resolve discrepancies and reconciles the account
+ Assist with special projects as needed
+ Provide support to other accounting staff
+ High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness

+ 3-4 years of billing experience.
+ Self-starter, dependable and systems savvy
+ Industry experience in construction, engineering or technology is preferred
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
+ Knowledge of Sage 300 software is a plus
+ Proficient in MS Excel. Candidate must be able to do VLOOKUPs, PIVOT tables, pre-formatted tables, complex formulas, conditional formatting, troubleshoot errors, develop templates, etc.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision in a deadline driven organization
Successful candidates will be required to submit to criminal background check.
