J&S Oil Wholesale Transport is now looking to speak with YOU! We are expanding our fleet and will be hiring 6 new professional drivers immediately!

J&S Oil Wholesale transport has been in business delivering wholesale petroleum products throughout the state of Maine since 1975. Our primary customers are retail convenience stores and fuel oil dealers although we have been known to deliver many other products in an effort to insure our fleet keeps moving and our DRIVERS stay busy.

Essential Duties

Delivery products driving transport in a safe and prudent manner, obeying all applicable state and federal laws governing your actions. You must always show above average common curtesy to all vehicle operators and pedestrians. Carefully reviewing delivery instructions to minimize errors: ie…proper products, amounts, prices, locations, methods of payment etc. Being well versed on company policies as well as state and federal laws concerning the handling and transport of hazardous materials including the following: Proper spill containment and emergency procedures Proper handling of hazardous materials Proper documentation required by law (shipping papers, MSDS sheets etc. Performing daily pre-trip and ongoing truck inspections, noting results on proper forms. Properly maintaining Daily Log and Customer Log books. Following proper loading and unloading safety procedures; ie…use of safety cones, parking lights and not leaving the vehicle unattended while loading or unloading, etc. Maintaining a high standard of professionalism, politeness and curtesy when interacting with customers, terminal operators and the general public. Performing routine preventative maintenance and above average cleanliness of your truck and associated equipment including keeping the cab clean and free of garbage, dirt and performing daily washes and periodic waxing of truck and trailer.


The outward appearance of yourself and your equipment, dress code and truck maintenance alike. Obeying and complying with state and federal highway laws as well as company policies and procedures. Understanding preventative and response procedures for sudden spill of products. Assuring the prevention of contamination of products due to accidental mixing


An employee of the transport department must possess a friendly outgoing personality in order to deliver the level of customer service expected. A transport driver must possess a valid Maine State CDL A Driver’s license and all applicable endorsements as well as an above average, safe driving record. Two (2) or more years’ experience driving a commercial motor vehicle is not required but is very helpful. Certification in adjusting brakes

Language Skills

A transport driver must be able to clearly speak, read and understand the English language.

Mathematical Skills

Strong basic math skills are necessary, such as the ability to perform simple additions and subtraction without the aid of tools A transport driver must be able to convert inches of product to gallons with the aid of reference materials provided.

Reasoning Ability

A transport driver must make decisions based on acquired knowledge as well as training and is expected to use good judgement and exercise extreme caution while doing so.

Physical Demands

The ability to safely operate a tractor trailer combination in all types of weather under all possible traffic conditions is a must. A transport driver must be able to handle 60-100 pound hoses when full of product. A Transport driver must be able to endure standing on their feet for 1 or more hours in all types of weather during loading and offloading.


CDL A W/Hazmat (or ability to obtain one) Manual or Automatic transmission Clean driving record for the last 3+ years Ability to pass a DOT Pre-Employment physical Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. with occasional need to handle 100lbs Reading, writing and basic math skills are required Clean cut and professional operators only please
