Job Description

As a System Engineer at Cerner, you are responsible for providing system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner’s solutions and services. You will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability, ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization, implement monitoring for applications and servers, and respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation. You will also deploy physical and virtual servers, complete assigned incident management asks, deploy, setup and maintain testing environments and provide Tier III support per service requests.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related Technology field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert level knowledge of PowerShell
  • Expert level knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Ability to create complex scripts for application deployments in SCCM with PowerShell in order to meet the needs of various vendor products requested by the client.
  • Knowledge of Group Policy Change Control with Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM)
  • Knowledge of PowerShell Studio to create and modify executable GUIs to perform tasks based on client need.
  • Expert level knowledge of Windows 10
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, and Server 2016 Operating Systems.
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting remotely with some basic knowledge of Network and Server infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Internet Explorer 11, Chrome, and Edge use of Enterprise Mode Site List and Chrome Legacy Browser Extensions.
