Position: Brokk Equipment Operator

Reports to: Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

Operate the remote-controlled demolition machine
Execute specific demolition tasks as instructed
Follow safety regulations and take action to prevent potential hazards or obstructions
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
Maintain, repair and install replacement parts
Excellent communication skills
Organized, hardworking and motivated
Able to maintain an operating log for the Brokk
Strong team player with positive attitude
Able to work independently
Normal working hours 7 am 3:30 pm; potential to work nights/weekends
Travel required as needed

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES

Hand and Foot Coordination: You need to be able to coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to clean up job sites.
Coordination: On busy construction sites, you must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers.
Attendance: must be able to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner; regular and prompt attendance are an essential job function
Working Conditions: ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, rain, pollution and toxic atmospheres
PPE: Ability to wear required PPE, including respirator, and participate in OSHA-required medical surveillance programs as necessary
Lifting: Able to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and talk or hear.
The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position is NOT responsible for a team/team member

POSITION TYPE

This is an hourly nonexempt position.

TRAVEL

Travel primarily within, but NOT limited to New England job site locations

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

OSHA 10 or higher construction training required

Valid driver’s license required

1 year Brokk equipment experience required

Mechanical skill preferred

Towing proficiency required

2 years demolition experience required

Experience working outside during all seasons and in all-weather required

Able to be at job site on time; job sites are generally located within 2 hours of headquarters

Passing of pre-employment post-offer physical

Able to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
