Job Description

A. JOB PURPOSE:

Toprovide high quality food service to patients and all customers in an
organizedand efficient manner. Assist dietitianwith clinical functions
for patients.

B. JOBRESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions):

? Consistently prepares nutritional healthy andpresentable food
accordingly to patient/staff menus, and catering requests.

? Manages and follows portion controls toeliminate waste and to
save money.

? Performs inventory ordering and stocking

? Maintains clean work area and equipment

? Uses accepted standards for sanitary handling offoods including
temperature control with documentation.

? Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic diets

? Maintains a safe environment which includesknowing and
understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

? Reports and directly addresses identifiedenvironmental hazards
when appropriate.

? Reports and directly addresses violations ofpatient safety
policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

C. MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

? High School Diploma and ability to read and write required.

Experience:

? Restaurant/Institutional cooking experience required.

? Serve Safe certification or willingness to becomecertified.

? Knowledge of medical nutrition and therapy highly desired.

Training:

? Will train experienced cook or internal nutritionalservices
assistants.

? Ability to be part of a team.

Licensure:

? Must be 18 years of age to meet regulations for the use ofa
meat slicer.

for clinical workers):

? Good communication skills

? Well organized and attention to detail

? Strong customer orientation
