Join the University of Southern Maine’s Center for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) team. CTEL strives to foster a culture of excellence in teaching. With a focus on high quality pedagogy, Learning Designers help faculty develop courses and find new ways to enhance student learning and create engagement with the broader community. The Learning Designer applies knowledge of curriculum design, learning theory, and educational technologies to assist faculty in the design of digitally enhanced degree programs and courses. This position is part of a team that guides development of high quality online programs and supports digital learning initiatives across the curriculum. The Learning Designer provides course design and ad-hoc consultation and support, as well as ongoing faculty development with the design and delivery of faculty workshops and other forms of faculty development. This position will also help guide the work of using data to guide course redesign and support other efforts to become more data informed in our instructional design practice. The Learning Designer collaborates on committee work within USM and across the University of Maine System, and contributes to the broader goals and strategies of the Center for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in education, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year experience designing online and blended courses in a higher education context.
