Mold Remediation Technician

Our technicians are very detailed oriented and understand the importance of the mold / indoor air quality industry standards (IICRC, NORMI, or ACAC). As a technician you will be working with a small group (2-5) to accurately complete the work plan. Many of projects involve customers that have a sensitivity to mold and have had mold testing conducted. Do you understand containment set-up and take-down, equipment set-up take-down monitoring and removal, demolition? Have you worked with a company like Servpro or ServiceMaster? If so, you may be an ideal candidate. We are not an emergency response company for the masses and you won’t be on-call for weeks on end. We are a dedicated group on mold remediation professionals that follow iicrc S520 standard and/or NORMI standard.
Reports to: Project Manager
Working with small crews (2-5) to complete the work plan. We are a NADCA Certified Duct Cleaner, and follow the iicrc S520 standard and/or NORMI standard for mold remediation. We have asbestos licenses in all New England states. Many projects involve select demolition and fine cleaning. Lead Paint experience or RRP Certification is a plus.

KEY ACTIVITIESWork with a small on-site team Build containment barriers to reduce the risk of cross-contamination Set-up HEPA rated negative air machines / air scrubbers Follow work plan to properly remove mold impacted materials Use HEPA vacuums and biocide solutions Normal working hours 7am 3:30 pm; potential to work nights/weekends Hard working and motivated POSITION TYPE
This is an hourly nonexempt position.TRAVEL
Travel primarily within, but NOT limited to, New England job site locationEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE OSHA 10 or higher construction training preferred Valid driver’s license required Ability to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly is required Passing of pre-employment post-offer physical required Knowledge of state regulations that you hold your license in is required Able to work outside during all seasons & weather is required WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Hand and Foot Coordination: You need to be able to coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order oversee project. Coordination: On busy construction sites, you must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers. Critical Thinking: Your job will require you to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful with minimal supervision. Ability to Work under Pressure: Must be able to manage and handle emergency situations, work pressure and stress Attendance: must be able to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner; regular and prompt attendance are an essential job function Working Conditions: ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, rain, pollution and toxic atmospheres PPE: Ability to wear required PPE, including respirator, and participate in OSHA-required medical surveillance programs as necessary Heights: Ability to work at heights Lifting: Able to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly, 100 pounds occasionally The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
