Overview: Under the supervision of a professional engineer and peer supervisor, the TRC Power Engineering intern will be part of a rotational program that offers exposure to various disciplines and engineering functions that contributing to utility power engineering projects. The engineering and project work will relate to the relay protection & control engineering for high voltage substation and transmission projects, physical substation engineering and layout, automation and communications engineering.

The intern may prepare, provide guidance, or assist in preparing and developing the engineering deliverables for electric substation projects. Will be responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements. Assisting engineering team with research and studies, developing equipment specifications, project coordination, and assisting with CAD design/drafting assignments.

Requirements

  • Attending a four year college or university and pursuing with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a Master of Science (MSEE). A concentration in OR previous experience in Power and/or Energy Systems preferred.
  • Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
  • Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
