Job Description


Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking an Investment Officer based in Bangor, ME. The primary responsibilities for this position include management of individual account portfolios as assigned; development and execution of investment strategies and recommendations for accounts under management; prepare and provide periodic management presentations, including economic and market commentary, and correspondence to current clients; assist Wealth Advisors in new business development, as appropriate, including proposals and performance reporting; measure effectiveness and performance of investment process, including performance reporting and presentations to clients; ensure all client files are maintained accordingly with appropriate documentation; and, responsible for the proper completion of transactions with or on behalf of clients.

The individual selected to fill this open position will also meet with clients, participate in monthly Account Review Committee meetings as necessary, prepare research and analysis to discuss at weekly Investment Committee meetings, establish and maintain written client histories, pursue training and educational opportunities to stay abreast of ever-changing regulations and laws, and ensure compliance with the Investment Policy Statement.

This position requires a candidate with the following skills:

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area with at least two years of relevant experience;

+ Must be able to function with a high degree of independence or collaboratively within a team, using sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals;

+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build internal and external relationships;

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service;

+ Working knowledge of Windows-based software programs.

+ CFA or CFP designation preferred.
