Summary

Masking and blasting parts using a wide variety of processes to prepare parts for proper coating\.Maintains the highest quality standards by following Praxair Standard Practices in all aspects of this job\.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviews traveler confirming product type and specifications for processing\.

Performs all operations according to traveler and Praxair Standard Practice specifications\.

May look up technical specifications if needed for various parts\.

Masks areas of parts to impede coating by taping, applying hard tooling, dipping, spraying, painting, covering or filling appropriate areas\.

Masks utilizing a wide variety of maskers and techniques including but not limited to:Tape, hard tooling, M1, M7, M8, powders, toothpicks, slurry, markers, powder press machine, forced air syringe, and core pack\.

Marks products with Praxair Identification\.

Quality Responsibilities:

Quality responsibilities are contained in Praxair QSP – 01, and other Praxair quality documentation\. Follows all relevant quality procedures contained in Praxair Quality System procedures, Standard Practices, Technical Plans, and Repair Station manuals\.

Other Duties:

Conveys materials/parts to and from masking area via pushcart\.

Supports/perform the blasting function as needed\.

Unload/Load curing ovens\.

Cleans work area between jobs and at the end of shift\.

Aid platers as required, tooling, mask, blast, part weighing, ect\.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience :

High schooldiploma or equivalent\.

Skills:

Ability toread and interpret documents\.Ability tounderstand and complete documentation for processes\. Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals\.

Physical Demands :

Frequentlyrequired to sit; walk; use hands, manipulate fingers, handle, or grip, andreach with hands and arms\. The employee is occasionally required to stand,stoop, lift and /or move up to 20\#’s\. Specific vision abilities required bythis job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheralvision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus\.

PPE :Varies for different processes but mayinclude:dust mask, gloves, ear plugs,safety glasses or face mask\.Requirements and recommendations are contained in Praxair StandardPractice SME\-MF\-422\.

Work Environment :

Industrialnon\-air conditioned environment\.
