Essential Functions

Communicate with and understand the needs and requirements of the prime contractors and/or project owners for public and private projects in order to develop strong working relationships. Analyze blueprints, specifications, site photos, and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, production, labor and disposal cost estimates to deliver a high quality and well thought out proposals on time. Prepare preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed estimates based on final plans and specifications. Present estimate and participate in internal bid reviews with Project Executives and/or EnviroVantage Leadership team to ensure accuracy, collaborate on means and methods, and verify completeness prior to bid submission. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients to increase bid opportunities and fluency of information on follow-ups regarding active project opportunities during the pre-construction stage. Develop relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing. Work closely with Project Management and Project executive team on handoffs for won jobs to ensure estimating methodology and all project knowledge is transferred appropriately to the operations team. Work closely with the Pre-Construction Coordinator to have a constant understanding of workload within the entire Estimating department and be prepared to assist other estimators as needed.


This position not responsible for directly supervising any employees


This is a salary exempt position


Minimal travel if any would be limited to the occasional site visit and industry related event

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 10+ years of combined cost estimating experience in various construction trades, demolition, and environmental remediation; including reading and understanding various construction documents such as but not limited to project scopes of work, blueprints, site drawings, photos, as-built’s, geotechnical surveys and hazardous building material surveys required Advanced knowledge of construction principles and heavy equipment capabilities required Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook,) required Minimum of 5+ years of estimating Federal projects as a prime or a subcontractor for a minimum of one or a combination of Federal clients to include USACE, NAVFAC, Air Force, US Coast Guard or EPA preferred Strong working relationship with environmental engineering firms and general contractors preferred Strong working knowledge of government contracting and bid submission process preferred 2-3 years estimating experience projects ranging in scope and scale from $5-10M+ for a specific trade preferred Experience with estimating soil excavation and soil management/disposal preferred Working knowledge of E Take-off and Estimating software preferred Working Knowledge of Bid2Win preferred Undergraduate degree preferred CERTIFICATIONS ASPE designation of Certified Professional Cost Estimator preferred
