Job Description

What We’re Looking For

Our Westbrook, Maine office is seeking Intern Engineers for Summer 2020 in the following areas: highway design, traffic, and structures.

Relocation and housing are not provided for these positions.

Primary Focus Will Include:

?

Highway Intern

+ Perform basic engineering calculations

+ Organize information for use in drawings or other documents

+ Assist other engineers in various tasks and duties

Traffic Intern

+ Perform basic engineering calculations

+ Collect, organize and summarize transportation data.

+ Completes safety studies, signal optimizations, and capacity analyses

Structural Bridge Intern

+ Perform basic engineering calculations

+ Organize information for use in drawings or other documents

+ Assist other engineers in various tasks and duties

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

+ Completion of 2 years of post-secondary Civil engineering program

+ Emphasis in transportation or structural engineering

+ Experience with AutoCAD (or MicroStation preferred)

+ Previous internship or co-op experience

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

+ Anticipated graduation date of December 2020 or later

What You’ll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Assists engineer teams in various tasks and duties.

+ Assists Engineer with research, development and design of projects.

+ Assists Engineer with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program
