We currently have an opportunity for a Director – Client Services – Employee Benefits in our Cumberland Foreside, ME office. The selected employee will be responsible for the Employee Benefits Account Management Team performance in assigned locations including the execution of service standards supervising assigned personnel and the direct handling and servicing of employee benefits accounts in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Oversee the operation of multiple department locations, by setting objectives, planning, organizing and coordinating with other departments.
Provide guidance on account management best practices by ensuring the “right level” of service is delivered depending on revenue, account size, complexity, and needs.
Supervise and direct account managers and analysts to include training, motivation, accountability, performance and salary recommendation.
+ Coach and develop the team members on a daily basis to achieve efficiency and service excellence targets; ensure new team members successfully on-boarded. Assign accounts and work assignments to department personnel and provide assistance with the servicing of accounts.Provide technical knowledge and expertise to department personnel regarding appropriate coverage.Facilitate regular (weekly/ bi-weekly) meetings and rapid problem solving in a way that both engage staff while delivering the expected process performanceIdentify and address issues and problems in the work flows that are major contributors to performance issues in delivering against the process targets (Plan-Do-Check-Act)
+ Collaborate with other Client Service Directors, producers, and local management, to improve the overall operations of the organization and coordinate improvement activities.
Role model the behaviors needed to execute change and lead the team through change as needed.
For those clients assigned directly to the Employee Benefits Directo r:
Understand clients’ business and insurance needs, and critically analyze and compare insurance plans and HUB services to determine suitability for additional opportunities
Lead resolution of escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve
Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings in coordination with producer
Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contribute to meeting departmental production goals.
Negotiate with marketing/underwriting personnel regarding the pricing and coverage of policies.
Oversee and implement a quality control review process to assure the production of quality work and the provision of excellent customer service.
Conduct business in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of both the business and earnings implications of the Company.
Keep informed of changes and trends within the industry for the purpose of anticipating and responding to profit objectives.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager
+ Seven years Employee Benefits insurance experience.
+ Supervisory experience.
+ Thorough knowledge of Employee Benefits coverages and markets.
+ Producer’s license.
+ Experience with agency management system.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office products.
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Department Account Management & Service
Required Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience
Required Travel: Negligible
Required Education: High school or equivalent
